The Digitest II ™ Tooth Vitality Tester:
Combining Accuracy, Patient Comfort, Ergonomics and Reliability.
The NEW Digitest II includes all of the classic features of the original Digitest and more. The durable, shaped case makes the unit comfortable to handle, as well as being easy to wipe down for disinfecting.
When the start button is pressed, the device’s microprocessor produces a gentle, pulsed waveform that automatically increases in strength, repeating several times per second. This progressive stimulus produces a pulpal response well below the patient’s pain threshold. The result is an accurate reading you can rely on, while keeping the patient comfortable.
The same button that activates the device allows the user to program the unit’s functions. To select the rate of increase for the stimulus, simply apply two quick presses. You can now change the rate between Slow, Medium and Fast, and the unit remembers the setting you’ve chosen, until you change it.
Slow Medium Fast
In addition, the microprocessor performs a self-test every time the unit is turned on to assure that the entire electronic system is functioning properly. The unit also shuts itself off after testing to preserve battery life. The Digitest II comes with a standard, 9-Volt Alkaline battery that may be easily replaced right in the dental office.
The Digitest II shares the same autoclavable testing probes as the original Digitest and comes with four different styles-standard Long and Short, and precision Labial and Lingual. These styles should allow you to test just about any tooth a patient presents with.
